Itinerary
Day 2.
Istrian peninsula Round trip and sightseeing on the Istrian peninsula where we will first visit Poreč with its old town. We proceed to Rovinj probably the most beautiful town in Istria, situated on a small peninsula with the St. Eufemia church sitting on top of the old town. Our day we finish in a special wine cellar, where the wine maker invite us to a wine tasting to taste his great wines. |
Day 3. Opatija
After breakfast we drive to Opatija,a place where the modern 19. Century elite spent their winters: Wilhelm II, Franz Josef, Gustav Mahler, and Isadora Duncan. We will take a stroll along the board-walk, visit the big parks and see the eldest hotel on the Adriatic coast to feel the charm of the time at the change of the century. For a memorable day out we will travel towards Permani/Mucici, close to the Slovenian border, to a small typical village „konoba“ - the “Old Post” where you will have the opportunity to experience the region's cultural identity by meeting the locals and getting to know their local customs, tasting local wine and enjoy authentic music while the locals are playing cards. This restaurant once was a post office and a rest place for postal carriages while today is a place where local still lives their old traditions and a perfect opportunity for guests to enjoy this special authentic place. At Old Post Station restaurant that is renowned for its local food, homemade wines and brandy. |
Day 5. Wine festival.
Today you will enjoy a real Wine festival in the middle of Istria. On this day the small hilltop town of Gračišće is becoming the center of the Istrian wine makers where they choose the best out of them. The old historical center of the town is becoming a big wine cellar. During the whole day you can taste wines from different wine makers and pick your favorite Croatian wine. Along the streets you will be able to hear traditional music and see folkloric performances. It is a unique event, holding every day on eastern Monday which gives you the best opportunity to taste our best wine in one place. |
